Job Summary
Manage, maintain, and optimize Oracle database environments to ensure high availability, security, performance, and reliability across critical business systems.
Administer database installation, configuration, upgrades, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to support stable and efficient operations.
Collaborate with application developers and infrastructure teams to implement database best practices, strengthen disaster recovery capabilities, and support business and technology initiatives.
Job description
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database software and related products.
- Create and manage database objects, including tables, indexes, views, and procedures.
- Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations as required.
- Monitor database performance and optimize SQL queries for improved efficiency.
- Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
- Backup and recover Oracle databases to ensure data availability and disaster recovery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to support application development and deployment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (preferred): • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) – Database Administration
- Experience with Oracle Exadata and Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data replication.
- Hands-on experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud PostgreSQL).
- 5+ years of experience as a DBA managing Oracle databases.
- Proven experience in high availability, clustering, replication, and disaster recovery planning.
- Hands-on experience with database migration and cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud PostgreSQL).
