Job Description:

Southeast Asia is where Scimplify's global manufacturing expansion takes shape home to some of the world's most capable chemical manufacturing capacity in oleochemicals, phosphorus derivatives, and specialty intermediates. We're looking for someone who already lives in this world: real factory relationships, a feel for how industrial zones operate, and the credibility to walk into a plant manager's office and have a serious conversation. This is one of Scimplify's first in-country hires in Southeast Asia direct line to leadership, real ownership of your region, founder-level autonomy. You won't be handed a playbook; you'll be writing it.

Travel: 50%+ across industrial clusters, factory visits, and partnership development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the full manufacturer onboarding cycle — Discovery Conversion Qualification — for factory partners in assigned chemical clusters (oleochemicals, phosphorus, specialty chemicals)
• Build and sustain deep relationships with factories at the plant-manager and owner level, not just procurement
• Conduct ground-level discovery visits to industrial zones (Cilegon, Gresik, Sei Mangkei, Lao Cai, Song Than, etc.); identify factories capable of Job Work at scale
• Manage an active pipeline of 15–20 factory partnerships; report progress and deal status weekly to India HQ
• Structure Job Work contracts, import/export documentation, and compliance requirements with legal and regulatory teams own the deal from LOI to signed agreement
• Represent Scimplify at chemical industry events, trade fairs, and cluster bodies

Requirements:

• 8+ years in business development, strategic sourcing, supplier/manufacturer relations, or chemical industry partnerships in Indonesia, Vietnam, or Southeast Asia
• Track record of building factory or supplier relationships from scratch not just managing inherited accounts
• Fluency in a regional language (Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, or Thai); English required for HQ communication
• Strong local network with factory owners, plant managers, and cluster association contacts
• Understanding of Southeast Asian specialty chemical manufacturing and Job Work/toll manufacturing models
