Position: Purchasing Assistant
Level: Section Manager
Location: Remote Working (U.S. Time Zone)
Responsibilities:
- Creates and issues purchase orders of corresponding vendors/suppliers as assigned
- Actively follows up with suppliers on shipment status to ensure on-time and in-full delivery performance
- Maintains and updates purchasing data and shipment information in SAP system
- Analyzes Depletion Models Report and PO Approval List Report to support Inventory Cap Requirements
- Coordinates with Finance/Accounting/Treasury to ensure that payment is made correctly based on payment terms and other requirements
- Consolidates information and coordinates payment requests with Accounting for expenses related to import shipments
- Maintains information to present to internal customers and stakeholders as needed
- Sends out and collects outgoing/incoming export/import documents
- Responds to inquiries of staff and administration regarding purchasing procedures
- Maintains good relationship with suppliers, procurement, and commercial teams
- Assists Purchasing Supervisor and Assistant Purchasing Supervisor as requested
- Other related duties as assigned evolving around business requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or related program
- 2 years purchasing or job-related experience
- Consistent and reliable attendance during U.S. Pacific Time Zone hours (10 PM 7 AM)
- Proficient spoken and written English required
- Ability to read and interpret standard accounting and business documents
- Proficient math skill
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, multi-task and use time effectively
- Ability to read and interpret complex written information, and follow instructions
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- Maintains confidentiality and security of sensitive company information
- Works independently under general supervision, uses initiative and good business judgment
- Demonstrates attention to detail. Keeps accurate and complete records
- Works well and communicates effectively with others
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service, maintains professionalism under pressure
