Service Engineer (Electrical Automation)

Job Summary

You will perform servicing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and testing of electrical automation systems onboard vessels, ensuring timely completion of tasks and supporting customers with technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot, commission, and test electrical automation systems onboard vessels, including LV/HV main switchboards and emergency switchboard power management systems
• Maintain, calibrate, and operate ACB, VCB, and VCS systems to ensure optimal performance
• Service, repair, and maintain generators to meet operational standards
• Perform maintenance on boilers, incinerators, thrusters, motor control stations, and other electrical automation systems onboard
• Analyze equipment failures to identify root causes and recommend or implement corrective actions
• Attend and carry out rectification works at customer sites promptly
• Provide continuous technical and operational support to customers to ensure system reliability
• Respond to emergency repair requests and perform standby duties for urgent service needs outside office hours
• Assist with additional duties as directed to support team objectives
• Travel overseas for assignments as required to deliver service excellence

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience with Ballast Water Management Systems (BWMS) is advantageous
