Trade Credit Lead, Thailand

The Trade Credit Lead, Thailand, Thailand will be based in our Bangkok office and report to the Head of Trade Credit, Thailand. This role is responsible for managing Trade Credit underwriting and operational activities, supporting business growth, and contributing to the achievement of Trade Credit Thailand's strategic priorities. Occasional travel may be required based on business needs.

As a Senior underwriting professional, you will play a key role in driving business performance through sound underwriting judgment, portfolio management, and relationship development. You are respected internally and externally for your technical expertise and ability to manage programs and processes. You need to balance risk and growth mindsets. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.
How you will create an impact
- Grow the business: Drive profitable portfolio growth in line with AIG's risk appetite, underwriting strategy, and financial objectives.
- Underwriting Excellence: Manage underwriting activities, ensure disciplined risk selection, pricing adequacy, and portfolio quality across both new and renewal business.
- Financial & Operational contribution: Be accountable for individual KPIs and contribute to team budget performance, manage day-to-day operations and ensure efficient processes.
- Broker & Client relationship: Build, strengthen, and expand relationships with brokers, clients, and key business partners; support commercial initiatives to capture new opportunities and deepen existing relationships.
- Team Development: Support the development of the underwriting team through coaching, knowledge sharing, and maximizing the potential of individual underwriters.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Regional APAC and global teams to ensure alignment on underwriting strategy and portfolio management, while collaborating with local functional teams including Distribution, Risk, Claims, Finance, Legal & Compliance, and other Lines of Business to deliver business objectives and operational excellence.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to AIG policies, underwriting guidelines and local regulatory requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated experience in credit underwriting within complex commercial environments, including credit risk analysis, policy structuring, underwriting strategy, portfolio management, and business development.
- 7+ years of successful experience in Trade Credit Insurance, Corporate Credit, Banking, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong decision-making capability, collaborative team mindset, learning agility, and excellent organizational skills.
- Willingness to make decisions, work in a team, quick perception, and good self-organization.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and key stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); S&P CapIQ, Salesforce, or related financial or business tools are a plus
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration (MBA), or a related discipline is preferred.
- Fluency in English and Thai.
