Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager (Open to Supervisor - Manager level) to join our pioneer sales team for the newly established Laem Chabang branch.

This pivotal role combines aggressive new customer acquisition with the nurturing and expansion of existing client portfolios within the strategic Eastern Economic Corridor.

As a key player in DP World's growth strategy, you will be instrumental in driving revenue by consistently attracting new business and establishing our footprint in this industrial zone. Your ability to adapt to changing market conditions and your innovative approach to problem-solving will be key to excelling in this position.

Key Accountabilities

  • Achieve the stipulated sales targets set by DP World to drive commercial growth within the region.
  • Identify and target potential customers by researching industries, markets, and leads to uncover new sales opportunities.
  • Generate leads actively through various channels including cold calling, email campaigns, networking events, and referrals.
  • Create and deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposals to prospective customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new Beneficial Cargo Owners (BCOs) to understand their evolving needs, address concerns, and secure repeat business.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the comprehensive logistics solutions and services provided by DP World.
  • Collaborate with BCOs to design tailored logistics solutions that align with their specific requirements and business objectives.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with BCOs to secure profitable and mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Monitor logistics industry trends, competitive services, and market conditions to stay informed and strategically positioned.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry regulations and compliance requirements, particularly concerning international logistics and transportation.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams, such as Operations and Customer Service, to ensure the successful execution of contracts and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales and business development experience within the Logistics and Freight Forwarding industry.
  • Demonstrated solid working knowledge of the Freight Forwarding market and its operational dynamics.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, with strong interpersonal abilities to engage clients, carriers, forwarders, and vendors.
  • Proven ability to research, identify, tackle, grow, and close business opportunities while securing the needed support from product and operations teams.
  • Results-driven and proactive mindset, capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Exceptional negotiation, consultative selling, and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities methodically and perform well under pressure.
