Job Description

Candidates with full-time availability are preferred. The company is also open to experienced producers with part-time availability.

Who we are:

  • Storytailors is known for making ambitious international shoots possible, anywhere in the world.
  • We helped produce content used by the biggest names in international media — including Netflix, BBC, Discovery, Amazon, ITV, and Al Jazeera.
  • Whether it's a documentary in Tokyo, a commercial in Dubai, a news crew in Johannesburg, or a branded shoot in Mexico City, we are a one-stop-shop to get the job done.
  • We specialise in international production support: logistics, local access, contributors, scouting, crews, permits, and problem-solving on the ground, mainly for broadcast television and documentaries, branded content, commercials, digital content, and fast-turnaround editorial shoots.

The Producer role:

  • You act as the main liaison connecting our clients to the local producers across Asia and making sure productions happen as agreed
  • A client comes to us with a specific shoot in a certain country (say Taiwan). You talk to the client, contact our team on the ground, pitch, budget and manage the shoot remotely from inception to final bill.
  • You are also required to participate as a producer on the ground on shoots in the territory you are based. In this case, you would be involved on-set in the actual production.
  • One day you could be coordinating a shoot in Jakarta, the next you may be discussing a commercial in Thailand
  • The jobs can be commercials, documentaries, current affairs pieces (rarely feature films)
  • You would sometimes have to be on set and also coordinate local crews remotely

Work duties include:

  • Fast-paced production tasks: crewing, locations, budgeting, permitting, pitching etc.
  • Taking emails and phone calls from potential clients (foreign production companies and international journalists) and converting them into paid assignments
  • This is not cold calling. Clients come to us, the production manager/producer needs to talk to the clients and our local network and make the projects happen
  • Liaising with production people around the world to execute the assignments
  • Handling budgets, payments and profitability for each project
  • Work will be done on set for relevant projects and also remotely depending on territory

Main requirements:

  • Proficient in English (both spoken and written) – C2 level is a must
  • Minimum 10 years experience in production
  • Budgeting knowledge
  • International knowledge and experience are a plus
  • Availability to work full-time ideally (company also open to part-time)
