We're Vision Lab, an AI research lab in SF (YC). We work with leading AI labs on physical intelligence — collecting large-scale egocentric video data that captures how people actually interact with and manipulate the physical world. Think hands-on work across manufacturing, repair, assembly, construction, and other skilled environments. This kind of real-world interaction data is critical for training the next generation of robotics and physical AI models.
Role Description
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to take end-to-end ownership of a large-scale operational project delivered through a network of external vendor teams across multiple countries. You'll be accountable for delivery against target, budget, and quality standards, and for the day-to-day management of the partners and internal teams who make that delivery happen.
Day to day, you'll:
- Own delivery of the project against agreed targets, timelines, and budget
- Maintain the delivery plan and report progress, risks, and forecasts to senior management on a regular cycle
- Manage a network of external vendors and partners — onboarding, performance management, capacity planning, and commercial discussions
- Run the operating rhythm — regular reviews, delivery checkpoints, and sign-off gates — with clear ownership on every workstream
- Monitor quality against client requirements and take corrective action when output falls short
- Balance the competing priorities of volume, cost, and quality, and make and document the trade-off decisions
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client on delivery matters, including escalations and requests for clarification
- Identify operational bottlenecks and improve process, tooling, and reporting • Line-manage and develop a small internal operations team
Qualifications
- 5+ years in project or operations management, including responsibility for delivery against a hard deadline
- Proven experience managing external vendors, suppliers, or contractors at scale
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data and spreadsheets to track performance and support decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present clearly to senior stakeholders and clients
- Experience working across multiple countries, cultures, and time zones
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity in a fast-moving environment
- Fluent English
Nice to have
- An additional language, particularly Thai or Mandarin
- A background in field operations, logistics, media production, or data collection
- Experience delivering against an externally defined quality standard or client scorecard
- Familiarity with SQL, BI tools, or AI assistants for self-service reporting
- A formal project management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
